which
interested people already owning air conditioners, or those who consider
buying.
Broadly speaking, prevention involves disassembly and cleaning of the
plastic
cover of the indoor unit.
Why do maintenance and how often it is necessary?
The purpose of prevention is cleaning the air conditioner, which gathers
dust, mold and other substances endangering your health. If the heat
exchanger is congested by dirt, an air stopper occures that causes
difficulties during heat circulation. The
compressor (the engine of the air conditioner) overloads and therefore
could cause a significant damage. In a better senario the air
conditioner simply wouldn't work at its full capacity and you are going
to feel an unpleasant smell, which you could get used to, but it is
still embarrassing if you have guests - they most certainly will notice.
Preventive measures for the indoor unit should be taken 2 times a
year: before heating time of year and once again before cooling period.
What is the cost?
Prices vary, but let's say that currently prevention of one indoor unit costs 50 BGN. If you include the external part the price increases with 40 BGN. If there is no access to the outdoor unit and it has to be disassembled and cleaned, the price jumps with at least 20 BGN. If it is necessary to remove the internal body, even 20 BGN. All in all, I can say that everyone is an individual, but it is acceptable and worth to clean the internal body for 50 BGN once a year.
